Bike update – we are humbled and blown away!
As we sit
here in Rouen licking our wounds and figuring out a plan going forward, we have
been feeling so much love from our friends and family in NZ and elsewhere in
the world. Your comments and concern
have been a huge comfort to us for sure.
We were sat
completely on our backsides when one of our good friends here in the UK e-mailed
with an amazingly generous offer. He said
that he and his partner were considering buying e-bikes although not for a year
or 2. He’s therefore offered to pay a
large chunk of the cost of replacement bikes for us now, then they’ll be his
when we’re finished with them. Wow!
Then on top
of that my brother Steve has very kindly put together a give-a-little page for
some replacement bikes, obviously with a smaller amount now thanks to the offer
above. Double wow!
Both of these
cause a huge variety of emotions for both Anita and me because we’ve never been
the type of people to ask for help. We
feel uncomfortable even posting this blog.
However, Steve is correct, the loss of the bikes is a serious financial
blow as we have very little income while we’re away overseas.
Please don’t
feel any obligation whatsoever however here is the link: Adventures
with Harvey's e-bikes ... - Givealittle
With much
love and the biggest thanks to you all.
Dave &
Anita
PS. There have of course been more exploring and adventures
over the last few days (and more Harvey drama – where would we be without
Harvey drama?!) however I’ll save that all up for a big newsy update in the
next day or 3.
~ your UK friends sound very generous with the practical solution to help solve the bike problem. R
